When my father, grandfather, and stepfather passed away within a short time of each other I realized how spoiled I’d been! They came up with the ideas, then provided the itineraries and equipment for our adventures. I just showed up and enjoyed the trip – whether it be a back road Jeep trip that included hiking to waterfalls, canoeing, fishing, snowmobiling or camping.
A series of events lined up and an opportunity presented itself to me. I attended Registered Maine Guide School at Maine’s Outdoor Learning Center (MOLC) and had the time of my life! I earned Maine Guide First-Aid/CPR/River Rescue certification, made lifelong friends, and became a Registered Maine Guide in Recreation. As a member of the Maine Professional Guide Association, I have pledged to enhance the standards of guiding by providing a quality, professional and ethical outdoor experience.
I am happy to say that I continue to be inspired by so many women who adventure! My mother and her hiking group, as well as the many women I've met through guide school who continue to explore and are always up for a side quest!

Things I did Prior to being a Registered Maine Guide
I owned a pizza/bakery/ice cream shop for ten years. I was ServSafe certified during this time and learned a lot about food safety. That has come in handy for transporting food for adventures. I miss the people, but I learned restaurants do not leave enough time for adventures!

I worked as a school psychologist in Maine and North Carolina. I loved working with kids (pre-K through 12th grade) and loved having the summers off! It gave me a lot of time for adventures! I attended University of Maine (BA in psychology) and University of Southern Maine (MS in in school psychology).

Where you'll find me.

When I’m not guiding, I am likely to be on the water or at a play with my family, hiking with my friends, cleaning my Airbnb, at a martial arts class, or counting animals like loons, salamanders and frogs for various community science organizations.
